This is work in progress here.

To view the full Database Tutorials, go to : Shaboodle

Flat File Database

Over the course of the next few lessons you will learn how to create a flat file database and see some different ways to view it and interrogate the database.

We will be using Microsoft Access for this task. You will need to watch each tutorial and then do what it says using a database of your own.

You should read through the content about databases provided in other sections of this website

1. Start making your own database

You could choose topics such as:
  • Telephone contact database
  • Best movies ever
  • Best quotes
  • Favourite wombat recipes
  • Best netballers ever
  • Favourite restaurants

Initial Reading:

Before we begin the tutorials, you will need to know some Database basics.

Read the following text and answer the 'remember' questions from each of the two sections (3.1 and 3.2) in your books. It comes from chapter 3 of your textbook.
