What is the Digital Careers Bebras Australia Computational Thinking Challenge?- Bebras is an international student challenge whose goal is to promote computational thinking for teachers and students (ages 8-17 / school years 3-12).
- Bebras is aligned with and supports Information and Communication Technology (ICT) curricula across Australia.
- Bebras Australia is run by CSIRO under the Digital Careers program, funded by the Australian Government.
- It’s a great way to get students interested and participating in information and communication technology (ICT) which could lead to an interest in pursuing a career in the exciting ICT industry!
Everyone can do itThe Bebras Challenge is made up of a set of 15 questions delivered online in the classroom. Students have 45 minutes to complete the challenge in one sitting and questions can be answered without prior knowledge about Computational Thinking or ICT. Work alone or in teams To solve the tasks, students are required to think in and about information, discrete structures, computation, data processing, and algorithmic concepts. Each Bebras task can both demonstrate an aspect of computational thinking and test the talent of the participant.
What's Involved?There are 15 problems to be solved. These are presented under three levels of difficulty – Easy, Medium, Hard – each consisting of 5 questions. The questions get progressively more difficult as students advance upwards through the school system.

Format- Bebras is a great way to get more ICT in schools and can be delivered within one school hour (45-60min)!

- No prior computing/ICT knowledge is required
