In Chapter 1 we discussed general social and ethical issues relevant to information systems, in this section we focus on issues of particular importance during the collecting process.

Social and ethical issues of particular importance during the collecting process are

• Bias within the collection process.

• Inaccuracy of the collected data.

• Failure to acknowledge the source of data.

• Privacy concerns of individuals.

• Ergonomics for data entry participants.
